Job Summary
Lead daily shop workflow, assign maintenance and repair work, and conduct daily huddles to communicate priorities. Oversee complex diagnostics, troubleshooting, road tests, and hands-on repairs across diesel, gasoline, emissions, and hydraulic systems. Train technicians, coach skill development, and assist with performance evaluations and hiring decisions. Monitor repair quality, schedule fleet maintenance, manage parts inventory, and approve expenses within assigned authority. Ensure compliance with safety regulations and maintain accurate documentation while supporting a clean, organized shop environment.
Required Qualifications
- At least five years of diesel or automotive maintenance and repair experience
- Previous experience as a lead technician, shop foreman, supervisor, or maintenance manager
- Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting ability
- Experience directing workflow and supporting the development of other technicians
- Knowledge of preventive maintenance, electrical systems, brakes, suspension, hydraulics, emissions, HVAC, and engine repair
- Valid driver's license
- Willingness to obtain a CDL while employed
- Strong computer and maintenance-documentation skills
- Ability to communicate effectively with technicians, management, vendors, and operations personnel
- Ability to prioritize work in a fast-paced fleet environment
- Must possess a mechanic's tool set
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs
