Job Summary
Lead Diesel Technician responsible for directing a team of technicians in repairs and maintenance of heavy-duty trucks and refuse equipment. Responsibilities include diagnosing complex repair work, coaching diagnostic techniques to subordinates, scheduling repair work, inspecting third-party repairs for safety and regulatory compliance, and mentoring technicians. Requirements/skills include extensive knowledge of chassis and refuse-body systems, braking, engine, suspension, drive train, hydraulics, electrical, HVAC; welding and fabrication; OSHA Haz Com and related safety practices; 3+ years as a technician on heavy-duty trucks; optional ASE certifications and Class B CDL. Strong emphasis on safety, timeliness, and leadership in a shop and on the road as needed.
