Job Summary
Lead Diesel Mechanic role leading maintenance operations for Class 8 tractors and tanker trailers at Altom Transport. You will diagnose and repair heavy trucks, guide other technicians, promote safe shop practices, and maintain documentation. Responsibilities include coordinating daily shop workflow, supporting diagnostics and repairs, ensuring DOT and company safety standards, performing preventative maintenance, managing equipment readiness, working with parts vendors, and maintaining a safe, organized shop environment. Ideal candidate has 3+ years of Class 8/heavy diesel experience, strong diagnostic and repair skills, leadership or mentorship experience, and a focus on safety and quality. CDL is a plus.
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience working on Class 8 trucks or heavy diesel equipment
- Strong mechanical diagnostic and repair skills
- Basic tools required for diesel repair work
- Ability to assist and guide other technicians
