Job Summary
Lead Diesel Mechanic position responsible for performing preventive maintenance, inspections, and minor repairs on trailers and tractors, utilizing computer systems for work orders, and assisting senior mechanics. Requires strong mechanical skills and at least 5 years of relevant work experience.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years prior work experience as a Tractor Technician, Lead Technician or similar job function
- Must be able to certify as a brake inspector
- Valid driver’s license
- Ability to provide own basic hand tools
- Must become a certified Brake Inspector and Annual Vehicle Inspector within 6 months of being hired
Desired Qualifications
- Strong mechanical aptitude
- Skill with windows based computer systems
- Technical reading aptitude
- Basic welding skills
- Excellent customer service, oral and written communication, and teambuilding skills
