Lead - Diesel Class 8 Technician

Job Summary
Utilize OEM diagnostic software, scan tools, and technical resources to identify root cause failures and complete accurate repairs on diesel engines, electronic controls, and emissions systems. Conduct preventative maintenance inspections, diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and brake issues, and service aftertreatment components including DPF, DEF, and SCR. Accurately document diagnostics, labor, and parts usage while maintaining compliance with safety and environmental regulations. Assist and mentor junior technicians to support shop operations. Requires lead technician experience, minimum five years hands-on diesel work, ability to read wiring diagrams, and own basic hand tools.
Required Qualifications
- Lead Technician experience
- Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams, service manuals, and technical documentation
- Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience as a diesel technician
- Familiarity with OEM diagnostic software, electronic troubleshooting systems, and scan tools
- Must provide own basic hand tools
- Experience diagnosing and repairing aftertreatment systems including DPF, DEF, and SCR
- Strong diagnostic and electrical troubleshooting background
- Experience working with diesel engine platforms such as Cummins, Detroit Diesel, CAT, PACCAR, or equivalent
- Experience performing repairs on engines, drivetrains, brakes, steering, suspension, and related heavy-duty systems
