Job Summary
Design, develop, integrate, test, and maintain new software functionality while debugging existing code and correcting defects. Create automated tests for user interfaces and backend services, and collaborate with systems and test engineers to troubleshoot issues. Implement Agile principles to ensure methodologies are followed and contribute to program milestones under supervisor guidance. Manage operations concepts, requirements, and external/internal interfaces while adhering to established software processes. Perform integration and testing events at customer sites, maintaining an active Top Secret w/ SCI clearance. Work onsite five days per week in Sterling, VA.
Required Qualifications
- Active U.S. national security clearance
- U.S. citizenship
- Willingness to travel to customer sites for integration and testing events
- Willingness to be on-site regularly working in a secure area
- Currently holds an active Top Secret w/ SCI or SCI eligibility U.S. national security clearance or be able to receive and maintain one
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times
- Typically a minimum of 5+ years of related work experience with 2+ years working in an Agile environment, a bachelor's degree and equivalent combination of related work experience and schooling in lieu of degree; Advanced degree and 3+ years related work experience
- Understanding of SW fundamentals and SW development lifecycle
- Experience with Requirements derivation and testing
- Experience with software execution throughout the entire software life cycle (preliminary design through maintenance phases)
- Software and system-level debugging experience including the ability to identify problems in established code and make modifications as necessary
- Debug existing software and correct defects
- Experience with automated test tools for user interfaces and backend services
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to prioritize and make data-driven decisions
Desired Qualifications
- Proficient in Python
- Experience with Nifi
- Experience with Kafka, REST API, and/or WebSockets
- Experience with the Linux shell scripting (e.g. bash), python, and basic CLI tools such as grep, awk, sed, ssh, & scp
- Experience with Gitlab for version control
- Experience with testing frameworks like Pytest
- Experience with documentation tools like Swagger
- Experience in handling and integrating a wide range of data formats and protocols
- Experience with automated test tools like Playwright
- Understanding of DevSecOps principles
- Experience with Kubernetes, including creating and managing Helm charts for deployment
- Strong understanding of containerization tools, preferably Docker or Podman
- Experience with using or managing cloud services (AWS) and cloud-based infrastructure
- Experience and knowledge related to software discipline process development and deployment (Agile, Kanban, Waterfall)
- Experience with subcontractor interaction (ability to work directly with subcontractor engineering teams)
- Experience integrating software (modules, components, subsystems, COTS, FOSS)
- Experience preparing and presenting status information and technical material
- Experience working on an Agile Scrum team
- Experience with UML design modeling in modeling tools such as CAMEO, requirements tools (DOORs), Configuration Management tools (Gitlab, Artifactory)
