Job Summary
Lead DevOps Engineer at PGIM Ireland based in Letterkenny (hybrid 2-3 days in office). The role focuses on CI/CD, platform engineering, and operational excellence across on-prem, AWS, and Azure. Build scalable applications to support Portfolio Management, Compliance, Finance, Data Governance, Operational Risk, and Human Resources teams. Candidates should have deep technical knowledge of Java or Python with strong SQL and be comfortable working with large internal and external data sets. Responsibilities include standardizing CI/CD on GitHub Actions with reusable workflows and composite actions, implementing Infrastructure as Code with CloudFormation and Terraform, applying GitOps deployment patterns, and driving FinOps practices, security operations alignment, and SRE practices including SLIs/SLOs, on-call readiness, runbooks, automated remediation, and observability tooling.
Required Qualifications
- 10+ years of proven experience in DevOps or Platform Engineering
- Strong experience with deploying, managing and monitoring services in AWS/Azure
- Hands-on experience using source control (Git, GitHub) and feature branching strategies
- Experience designing and operating CI/CD platforms with GitHub Actions
- Knowledge of networking, DNS, routing and messaging between services
- Experience with microservices and observability (metrics, logs, traces) for production services
- Working knowledge of cloud security and SecOps processes (IAM, key management, logging/monitoring)
- Experience applying FinOps concepts in AWS/Azure and communicating cost drivers to engineering stakeholders
- Ability to speak to SDLC best practices and industry trends
- Familiarity with Software Engineering domains (Java, Python, JavaScript, SQL, Shell, IaC, Configuration-as-Code)
- Experience with monitoring/observability tools (Splunk, Dynatrace, Datadog, Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry)
- Strong verbal communication and documentation skills
