Job Summary
Lead the development of piping and equipment layouts for complex projects in the Process Chemical and Polymer industries, creating orthographic, isometric, and stack-up drawings using AutoCAD Plant 3D and Navisworks. Manage the design process from concept to detailed execution, prepare cost estimates during early phases, and conduct field visits to verify accuracy. Collaborate with mechanical, structural, and electrical teams to ensure seamless integration, while coordinating with clients, subcontractors, and vendors. Review shop drawings and submittals to support project teams, ensuring all designs adhere to industry standards and regulatory guidelines. Mentor junior designers and actively manage design changes during project meetings.
Required Qualifications
- At least 15 years of experience in piping and equipment design
- Minimum of 5 years in a lead role within the Process Chemical and Polymer industries
- Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD Plant 3D and Navisworks software
- Experience producing detailed piping layouts, stack-up drawings, and isometric drawings
- Strong communication and coordination skills
- Ability to effectively work with multiple stakeholders
- Proven ability to manage project schedules, budgets, and cost estimates efficiently
- Hands-on experience conducting fieldwork to gather design information and ensure accuracy in project execution
- Familiarity with industry codes and standards such as ASME and ANSI
Desired Qualifications
- A bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Piping Design, or a related field
- Demonstrated experience leading piping design for large-scale projects valued at $50M+
