Job Summary
Lead design drawings, AC and DC schematics, panel layouts, and wiring diagrams for substations ranging from 12kV to 500kV while ensuring work adheres to budget and schedule constraints. Create and manage work assignments for multidiscipline design staff, acting as a technical advisor across departments. Perform self-checks on all assignments prior to submission and incorporate vendor information into deliverables by applying client substation design standards. Collaborate effectively with engineers and other designers on multiple concurrent projects within a high and extra-high voltage environment.
Required Qualifications
- experience as a Substation P&C Designer
- ability to lead a team
- proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD or MicroStation
- ability to lead, instruct, and supervise multi-discipline design team members on a project level across different departments
- ability to create work assignments for multidiscipline design staff
- ability to manage work assignments
- ability to act as a technical advisor
- ability to ensure work tasks adhere to project budget and schedule constraints
- ability to collaborate effectively and efficiently with multi-discipline departments on all projects
- experience with P&C design for substations ranging from 12kV to 500kV
- ability to work in a project team environment with engineers and other designers involved in high and extra-high voltage substations
- ability to interpret and incorporate vendor information into design deliverables
- ability to properly apply client's substation design standards to the work
- ability to successfully work on multiple projects concurrently
