Job Summary
Lead Designer at Aalo Atomics will act like an internal design agency, driving cohesion across brand, UX/UI, web, motion, and internal tooling. You’ll shape the brand’s digital and physical touchpoints, streamline complex user interfaces and information architectures, manage and extend the Webflow presence, and establish design patterns and processes as the first dedicated design hire. The role requires deep design methodology know-how, the ability to educate teams on design practices, and a track record of autonomous, multi-domain delivery. Office is on-site in Austin, TX, with a preference for senior-level, self-directed designers who can lead a small design function and collaborate across marketing, engineering, AI/tools, and operations.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in design, visual communication, HCI, or related field (or equivalent professional experience)
- 10+ years of professional design experience across multiple disciplines (brand, UX/UI, web, motion, marketing collateral)
- Strong portfolio showing range across brand systems, component libraries, motion pieces, sales decks, and product interfaces
- Experience designing for external audiences (marketing/brand/web) and internal users (tools/dashboards/workflows)
- Proficiency in Figma (or equivalent), Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, After Effects / Motion), and AI tools (ChatGPT, Claude, Cursor, Image-gen AIs)
- Experience building or maintaining design systems
- Willingness to work on-site in Austin, TX
- Share portfolio or provide in Cover Letter space
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience; or a related field for design roles at scale
