Job Summary
Oversee daily clinical operations by preparing treatment rooms, sterilizing instruments per OSHA standards, and assisting dentists with procedures, x-rays, and material mixing. Supervise and mentor fellow dental assistants through regular check-ins, ensuring strict adherence to clinical protocols and infection control. Manage clinical inventory, equipment maintenance logs, and supply ordering while coordinating hygiene appointments and scheduling non-monetary visits. Ensure accurate completion of patient records, radiographs, and compliance with HIPAA and regulatory standards. Report clinical issues to the supervisor and implement new protocols as directed.
Required Qualifications
- Ideally, at least one year of prior dental assisting experience
- Excellent customer service skills
- Working knowledge of treatment and dental wellness
- Technical and troubleshooting skills to work with a variety of dental, medical, scheduling, and other organization software
- Strong organizational skills
- Knowledge of dental instruments
- Prior experience administering dental X-rays
- Current radiology license
- Current Hepatitis B vaccination
- Current CPR certification
- The ability to stand for long periods
- The ability to speak, understand, and communicate the English language effectively
- The ability to hear adequately on the phone or in person and group settings
- The ability to utilize visual acuity to read small print
- The ability to work in normal office environment conditions using a computer keyboard and mouse
- The ability to push and pull dental equipment weighing up to 25 pounds
- The ability to perform physical movements specific to dental assisting including the precise passing of instruments, materials, and medications
- The ability to deal with visual restraints of working in the oral cavity
