Lead Delivery Driver

Job Summary
Lead the loading and dispatching of all driver routes, supervise and train drivers on policies and procedures, and ensure efficient route planning and DOT/compliance activities. Manage daily operations related to transportation, including pre-/post-trip inspections, MVR monitoring, customer interactions, and escalation resolution. Provides coaching to junior drivers, reviews manifests for accuracy, and supports delivery execution within the service area with a focus on safe, professional, and timely customer service.
Required Qualifications
- 7+ years of experience in related transportation/logistics operations
- Valid drivers license
- MVR status acceptable
- Technical certification or associate degree may be required in some areas
- Experience operating box trucks or similar vehicles
- Knowledge of Department of Transportation regulations
- Coaching and training experience for drivers
- Customer service experience in delivery/logistics
- Ability to perform pre- and post-trip inspections
- Ability to plan and optimize routes
- Strong coordination and communication skills
- Proficiency with order manifests and dispatch processes
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Physical ability to lift 50+ pounds
- Experience with warehouse or distribution operations
- Familiarity with safety and compliance policies
- Experience with scheduling and workload balancing
- Strong problem-solving and leadership abilities
