Job Summary
Lead daily operations in the retail store's Deli/Bakery department, acting as the primary manager in the absence of the department manager. Order and maintain inventory, validate received orders, and manage team staffing to ensure product freshness, quality, and adherence to company standards. Execute the weekly Flight Plan, oversee scheduling and labor control, and support the department manager with performance management and goal development. Maintain a clean, stocked department, enforce food safety and guest experience guidelines, and participate in daily huddles and meetings. Requires high school graduate status, 0-2 years of retail experience, and proficiency in Microsoft Office. Full-time role based at 5539 US-10, Ludington, Michigan.
Required Qualifications
- High School Graduate (Required) or Equivalent (GED)
- ability to lift and/or move up to 30 pounds frequently, and up to 50 pounds occasionally
- required to stand and walk for extended periods of time
- may bend, stoop, twist and turn frequently
- subject to a typical retail store environment (varied temperatures)
- exposed to outside weather conditions
- noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate
- Travel requirements vary by assignment
Desired Qualifications
- 0-2 years of retail experience preferred
- Strong written and verbal communication, and bookkeeping skills
- Good organization, prioritization, decision-making, problem solving and conflict management skills
- Strong leadership abilities with capability to work in a hands-on environment
- Good strategic planning and business acumen skills
- Good knowledge of retail store operations; knowledge of retail management systems
- Suggestive Selling/Knowledge of Products preferred
- Proficient in Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
- Depending company location, ability to communicate in Spanish is highly desirable
