Job Summary
Lead department operations in the absence of the manager, ensuring associates are trained, the department is fully staffed, and all company goals and key performance indicators are met. Order and maintain inventory using control procedures to minimize loss and ensure freshness, while validating received orders for amount, quality, count, and condition. Manage team stocking, production, and date-sensitive rotation, handling spoiled products per guidelines and executing weekly Flight Plans. Support the manager with staffing, training, performance management, career development, and labor control, while communicating forecasts and attending daily huddles and meetings. Maintain a clean, stocked department adhering to food safety, cleaning, and guest experience guidelines, taking immediate corrective action when standards are not met.
Required Qualifications
- High School Graduate (Required) or Equivalent (GED)
- Strong written and verbal communication
- Bookkeeping skills
- Good organization, prioritization, decision-making, problem solving and conflict management skills
- Strong leadership abilities
- Capability to work in a hands-on environment
- Good strategic planning and business acumen skills
- Good knowledge of retail store operations
- Knowledge of retail management systems
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 30 pounds frequently, and up to 50 pounds occasionally
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time
- Ability to bend, stoop, twist and turn frequently
- Ability to work in a varied temperature environment
- Ability to be exposed to outside weather conditions
- Ability to work in a low to moderate noise level environment
Desired Qualifications
- 0-2 years of retail experience preferred
- Suggestive Selling
- Knowledge of Products
- Proficient in Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
- Ability to communicate in Spanish
