Job Summary
Lead Deck SME to coordinate ship training visits, develop training resources and curriculum for ship systems and maintenance, teach deck-plate operating principles, conduct material condition assessments, review maintenance processes, and advise leadership on crew proficiency and program efficacy. Requires 15+ years of supervisory deck-operations experience on Navy warships or military auxiliaries, with expertise in anchor, windlass, mooring, boat handling, crane, sterngate operations, amphibious operations, and underway replenishment; SECRET clearance required; travel up to 35%; full-time onsite in San Diego, with consideration for Everett, WA or Pearl Harbor, HI.
Required Qualifications
- At least fifteen (15) years of supervisory experience in analyses, information system operations, and implementation of technical projects related to Deck operations or RATT
- At least fifteen (15) of supervisory level experience on warships or military auxiliaries as Ships’ Boatswain responsible for overall deck operations
- At least fifteen (15) of experience with the technical aspects of anchor, windlass, mooring, boat handling, crane, sterngate operations, amphibious operations and underway replenishment systems on warships or military auxiliaries
- Direct experience with those systems currently employed by the U.S. Navy to include both operations and maintenance
- Proficient with common productivity software including the Microsoft Office suite
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and support fast-paced operational environments
- Excellent personnel management skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Existing SECRET security clearance required
