Job Summary
Lead Database Engineer role focusing on end-to-end data engineering for healthcare-related data: oversee data integrations, ETL processes, and database operations to support EMR data and Vestrum panel physician data in a data warehouse.Responsibilities include leading data integration efforts, maintaining and improving ETL workflows, normalizing EMR data, building scalable data architectures using AWS analytical services, ensuring data quality and backups, managing documentation, and providing leadership in data governance and security (HIPAA, GDPR). Required skills include expert SQL (MS SQL Server), SSIS/SSRS, Python and PySpark, cloud analytics with AWS, data modeling/architecture, and experience with relational databases (Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL). Strong communication, collaboration with analysts and stakeholders, and experience in project management and mentoring are necessary. Comfort with Linux/Windows server environments, Apache/IIS, and BI tools (Tableau/PowerBI) is also desirable.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
- 5+ years’ experience
- Expert level SQL
- Proficiency in Python & PySpark
- Experience with SQL Server to AWS migration
- HIPAA/GDPR knowledge
- Project management and leadership experience
- Experience with validated systems and clinical/healthcare data domain (preferred)
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
