Job Summary
Lead Data Engineer on the Revenue Engine team accountable for building and maintaining high-quality data pipelines and infrastructure to support revenue collection, financial reporting, and patient financial experience. Responsibilities include developing, releasing, and maintaining ELT pipelines using Python, FiveTran, DBT, and Snowflake; owning data infrastructure; orchestrating complex workflows with Dagster; identifying bottlenecks and driving process improvements; mentoring and knowledge-sharing across the tech team; and participating in on-call rotations to ensure data availability. Key skills include strong SQL (CTEs, window functions, partitioning), Python with Pandas/Numpy/Great Expectations, experience with a modern data stack (FiveTran, Snowflake, DBT, Dagster, Tableau), data exploration and governance, working with sensitive data in regulated environments, and familiarity with healthcare/revenue cycle domains. The role requires being within a 75-minute commute of NYC and in-office work four days a week.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or other technical discipline, or equivalent practical experience
- 7+ years experience in engineering, with at least 5 years in a data engineering role
- Deep expertise in SQL (CTEs, aggregation, window functions, partitioning and clustering)
- High proficiency in Python with Pandas, Numpy, Great Expectations
- Experience with FiveTran, Snowflake, DBT, Dagster, and Tableau
- Experience with data exploration, profiling, governance, visualization, and activation
- Ability to thrive in an ambiguous and rapidly changing environment
- Experience working with sensitive data in a regulated environment
- Healthcare and/or revenue cycle management experience is a plus
- Willingness to work in-office 4 days per week near NYC
