Job Summary
Design and deliver complex data pipelines and models at scale while guiding technical direction across engineering projects. Oversee the development of scalable platforms, including AI/ML-ready architecture, and establish best practices for data governance, quality, and security. Mentor junior engineers, support their growth, and collaborate with stakeholders to translate business needs into impactful data solutions. Influence architecture and team strategy within the Group Data Services & Reporting function that powers operations across eight business divisions.
Required Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Senior or Lead Data Engineer in complex environments
- Strong hands-on expertise in modern data engineering tools across cloud platforms
- Deep understanding of ETL/ELT, data architecture, and data quality frameworks
- A mentor who enjoys helping others grow
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills and ability to shape solutions from ambiguity
- Curiosity and a passion for turning data into meaningful business value
Desired Qualifications
- Experience working with AWS Redshift, dbt and Databricks
- Experience with AI, M/L tooling and data preparation as well as data orchestration and cataloguing
