Job Summary
Lead Data Engineer at Capital One driving data engineering solutions with Java/Scala/Python across cloud-based data warehousing (Redshift, Snowflake), NoSQL, and big data tools; collaborate with Agile teams, mentor engineers, perform unit tests and reviews, and deliver scalable, performant data platforms to empower financial services customers.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree
- At least 4 years of experience in application development (Internship experience does not apply)
- At least 2 years of experience in big data technologies
- At least 1 year experience with cloud computing (AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud)
- Proficiency in Java, Scala, Python
- Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases
- Experience with data warehousing (Redshift, Snowflake)
- Experience with UNIX/Linux and shell scripting
- Experience with Agile engineering practices
- Strong collaboration with product managers and cross-functional teams
- Mentoring or leading other engineers
