Job Summary
The Lead Mechanical Operations Engineer will oversee critical infrastructure and building mechanical systems within the Atlanta datacenter. Responsibilities include operating key mechanical systems, issue identification and resolution, coordination of maintenance activities, and system analysis. The role requires detailed knowledge of critical mechanical infrastructure, strong communication skills, and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively. Candidates must possess substantial experience in managing data center mechanical systems and supervising service technicians. A commitment to organizational excellence and continuous improvement is essential, along with a passion for data center technology.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience managing data center mechanical infrastructure
- 3+ years of experience managing a team of service technicians focused on mechanical infrastructure
- Strong knowledge and experience in supporting a fast-paced, demanding environment
- Ability to read and assess single line diagrams, technical manuals, and engineering plans
- Detailed knowledge of critical infrastructure - CRAH’s, CRAC’s, Chillers, RTU’s, and Water Purification Systems
- Strong communications, both written and verbal
- Ability to prioritize and manage a breadth of responsibilities
- Strong attention to detail
Desired Qualifications
- Experience working in pre-deployment phases of a data center, i.e. pre-construction or construction environments
- Direct experience in leading mechanical engineering efforts at a hyperscale data center facility
