Job Summary
Coordinate major power and cooling systems within the Data Center, ensuring they operate at peak efficiency while maintaining all associated records. Install, maintain, and de-install electrical equipment by referencing drawings and verifying proper connections, while building and labeling cabling. Monitor building systems using SCADA and ALC applications to detect performance issues and escalate corrective actions promptly. Lead vendor coordination for preventive maintenance and repair activities, resolving electrical and mechanical system problems in collaboration with engineering teams. Write Methods of Procedure for maintenance tasks and drive continuous process improvements across Data Center Operations. Mentor team members on operational knowledge, safety procedures, and tool usage during on-site and off-site training sessions.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED
- 4+ years of related experience
- Licensed Electrician or strong mechanical certifications/qualifications
- Working knowledge of data center mechanical equipment and the dependency of that equipment on electrical systems
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to coach and mentor
- Ability to establish and maintain professional working relationships with all levels within the company
- Adaptable to changing priorities and tasks to meet client service levels
- Able to work under pressure and time constraints, with a strong sense of urgency and ownership
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Moderate to advanced PC Skills
- Comfortable with working on third party software
- Occasional travel
- Ability to alter shift to accommodate training activities or perform shift coverage when needed
- Ability to lift up to 60 lbs. occasionally
- Ability to access all areas of the facility
- Must be available for weekend overnight shifts
- Must be able to work On-Site at our Target Technology Center in Elk River, MN
Desired Qualifications
- Master Electrician Certification preferred
- Industrial/Trade school courses preferred
- Electrical trade school degree preferred
