Lead Data Analyst

Lead Analyst within BBC Content Analytics will manage the News and Nations and Regions divisions, working with the Head of Content Analytics to identify where data and analysis can have the highest strategic impact, delivering audience insight to inform commissioning. You will line-manage 4 analysts, contribute hands-on to convert complex data into high-quality visualisations and tangible recommendations, coordinate the planning and delivery of large analytics projects, define storytelling practices with data, support colleagues in achieving high accuracy and robust documentation, align priorities with senior stakeholders, and shape delivery roadmaps to maximise impact. The role also involves coaching and developing the analytics team, planning resource and recruitment to meet organisational goals, and collaborating with other BBC technical teams to enable cross-departmental alignment. Essential skills include a STEM degree or equivalent experience, Python/R/SQL proficiency, experience leading analytics projects, data-visualisation leadership, and strong experience with Tableau/Shiny/Python Dash; desirable knowledge includes TV/news/media domains and digital landscape implications for BBC analytics.
