Job Summary
Lead Dance Instructor responsible for guiding dance programming across multiple sites, developing curriculum and choreography, mentoring instructors, and preparing students for stage performances. You will lead rehearsals, support showcase planning and music selection, coach instructional staff through site visits, and ensure high-quality, engaging dance education. The role emphasizes leadership, curriculum development, mentorship of instructors, and collaboration with program leadership to maintain consistency across locations, with afterschool weekday hours and additional rehearsal/production commitments. Required strengths include proficiency across ballet, jazz, hip hop, contemporary, creative movement, and musical theater, plus the ability to mentor staff, communicate effectively, and organize program activities for youth development and artistic excellence.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in dance instruction, choreography, dance education, or performing arts.
- Strong proficiency in multiple dance styles, including ballet, jazz, hip hop, contemporary, creative movement, and/or musical theater.
- Experience mentoring, supervising, or supporting instructional staff preferred.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Passion for youth development, arts education, and helping students achieve their artistic potential.
- Reliable transportation and flexibility to support rehearsals, performances, and special events.
