Job Summary
Lead Custodian - Nights role responsible for guiding the night custodial crew in a district facility. Lead the team to perform cleaning and maintenance tasks including vacuuming, trash removal, stocking supplies, floor care, restroom and lunchroom cleanup, and spill response. Ensure adherence to safety protocols, manage event setup/cleanup with custodial staff and athletics, monitor and print event calendars, train new staff, perform light equipment repairs and unlock doors as needed, assist with inventory and work orders, and coordinate with night supervisors on building status and staff concerns.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Custodial Experience in education setting: minimum of four years
- Ability to communicate effectively with students, teachers, building administrators, co-workers and supervisors
- Lead building custodial crew to accomplish tasks required throughout the facility
- Inspect others' runs and ensure productivity throughout the shift
- Complete assigned building daily tasks (vacuuming, trash removal, stocking supplies, sweeping, mopping, floor cleaning, restrooms, lunch room cleanup)
- Follow required chemicals and protective equipment per instruction
- Clean up spills promptly including bodily fluids
- Verify event calendar and print for night staff
- Lead custodial team to maintain safe walkways using snow shovel, snow blower, ice melt
- Assist staff with unlocking doors, minor equipment repair, moving materials per work orders
- Assist in inventory of custodial supplies
- Assist in training new custodial employees
- Complete monthly tasks including preventative maintenance
- Manage setup/cleanup of events with custodial staff and athletics department
- Communicate with night supervisors on building status and staff concerns
- Respond to calls from building staff and vendors
- Ensure safety procedures per District
