Job Summary
Lead CT Technologist responsible for performing CT procedures, ensuring patient safety and high-quality imaging, and providing leadership in the department. Responsibilities include verifying orders, administering contrast safely, positioning patients, acquiring and post-processing advanced CT protocols (TAVR, Cardiac CTA, gated chest, runoffs, lung and heart screenings), mentoring CT technologists, and acting as the department lead in the absence of the Chief Technologist. The role also involves staff development, coordinating workflow, ensuring regulatory compliance, participating in hiring/onboarding, and maintaining equipment readiness and imaging quality. Requires ARRT CT and Radiography credentials, BLS, and minimum years of clinical/CT experience, with the ability to teach and collaborate across departments.
Required Qualifications
- Completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology program
- ARRT Radiography (ARRT-R)
- ARRT Computed Tomography (ARRT-CT)
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience and 1 year CT experience
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to teach and mentor CT technologists
- Ability to perform and post-process advanced CT protocols (TAVR, Cardiac CTA, gated chest, runoffs, lung and heart screenings)
- Able to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong knowledge of anatomy and pathology and radiation protection
- Competency in CT QC and using imaging modalities
