Job Summary
Manage an individual caseload by performing intakes, developing treatment plans, and overseeing substance abuse counseling case assignments and discharges. Provide leadership to the counseling team through weekly staff meetings, case conferences, and guidance on managing difficult or complex patients. Ensure compliance with Federal, State, and agency policies by monitoring clinical records, conducting mock inspections, and signing off on documentation. Assist the Clinical Supervisor with problem-solving, conflict resolution, and readiness for state and CARF inspections.
Required Qualifications
- Possess certification as an Alcohol and Other Drug Counselor with a CA approved certification agency
- Current credentials as licensed or license-eligible with the Board of Behavioral Sciences
- Current credentials as licensed or license-eligible with the Board of Psychology
- If license-eligible, maintain the Board's requirements to be able to practice including receiving the necessary amount of clinical supervision by a Board approved supervisor
- Proof of licensure or certification by a State approved regulatory agency is required immediately once employed
- Employees must be credentialed prior to providing any counseling services per the DHCS
- Competence with Microsoft computer programs
- Communication skills both written and verbal
- Professional demeanor and customer service practices
- Organization and time management
- The use, abuse and treatment of illicit drugs and addiction
- The evaluation of patients, treatment planning, and counseling services

- Demonstrated leadership qualities amongst the counseling team
- Demonstrated superior clinical skills and the ability to share expertise with others
