Job Summary
Lead a team of Estimators to plan, prepare, and review comprehensive construction cost estimates for educational facilities, including buildings and structures from drawings and specifications; manage budgets and forms submitted for grants and loans; coordinate with architects and engineers to resolve discrepancies and negotiate preliminary cost estimates; analyze bid variances, change orders, and claims; establish procedures for plan approvals and public bidding; develop data methods for tracking estimated vs. actual costs and support seminars/workshops with minority contractors on school construction bidding procedures; consistently deliver accurate, timely cost estimates and support in price negotiations for PM/CM roles.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field
- Minimum of fourteen (14) years full time paid professional experience in the preparation of complete cost estimates for type I, II, or III, and V building construction as defined by the State building code
- Three (3) years of full time paid professional experience in supervising estimators
- Experience with a construction cost consulting firm for at least five (5) years
