Job Summary
Lead Cost Engineer responsible for directing cost estimating, analysis, and control activities on Bechtel projects in the Manufacturing & Technology, Infrastructure, and related markets. Develops and implements cost control requirements, analyzes cost trends, prepares cost studies using historical data and statistical analysis, and provides innovative solutions to cost engineering challenges. Leads and coaches junior/mid-grade Cost Engineers, communicates findings to management, and ensures work aligns with Bechtel and client contractual requirements. Requires a bachelor’s degree and substantial cost engineering experience with advanced knowledge of Bechtel's financial systems and standard cost reporting. Telework is Full-Time Office/Project with on-site work in Clay, NY, USA, and other U.S. locations. Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) in a relevant field
- 8-10 years of relevant cost engineering experience or 12-14 years of relevant work experience
- Experience directing cost engineering functions (cost estimating, cost control, cost analysis)
- Proven ability to lead and coach junior/mid-grade Cost Engineers
- Advanced knowledge of financial reporting systems (CFAR), cost management system (Ecosys), and Bechtel standard cost reporting (PFSR, QURR, CoCo)
- Excellent communications and presentation skills for management reporting
- Ability to develop and implement project cost control in accordance with contractual requirements
- Experience preparing cost studies using historical data and statistical analysis
- Ability to identify trends, analyze data, and propose cost-effective alternatives
- Relocation authorization available at national-family level
