Job Summary
Lead Cook at Boyd Gaming responsible for helping prepare menu items (chopping vegetables, salads, soups, sauces, entrees) under supervision, providing work direction to kitchen staff to ensure food quality and presentation, and coordinating with dining room staff. Must deliver Guest Service in the Boyd Gaming Way, engage with guests, learn and be familiar with room outlets and cook functions, read orders from computer printouts, maintain sanitary and safe work areas, adhere to Health Department regulations, complete assigned prep items, and perform opening/closing duties while maintaining SOPs and company standards. The role requires ability to supervise kitchen operations, communicate with dining room staff, and maintain a well-groomed appearance; prior experience in high-volume kitchens and strong knowledge of sanitation procedures are expected.
Required Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Demonstrated ability to prepare a wide variety of food items to standard in a high-volume, fast-paced operation
- Demonstrated understanding and knowledge of sanitation procedures
- Typically acquired through at least 3 years’ experience directly related to the accountabilities specified
