Job Summary
Lead Cook responsible for preparing all food items per standardized recipes, ensuring tray accuracy, meal timeliness, and high food quality. Leads by example, provides guidance to cooks, maintains cleanliness and safety standards, communicates operational issues to leadership, and supports resident-specific therapeutic diets while managing stock, equipment, and kitchen efficiency.
Required Qualifications
- Washington State Food Worker Card
- Minimum of three years' experience as a cook in a hotel, restaurant, club, or similar institution
- Ability to plan and organize work, follow instructions, recipes, specifications, and standards
- Knowledge of kitchen equipment operations and maintenance; some knowledge of nutrition and diet
- Ability to communicate effectively and perform simple arithmetic and understand measurements and conversions
- Lead Cook responsibilities including preparation per standardized recipes, maintain food quality and safety standards
- Ability to train/lead junior cooks and ensure cleanliness and sanitation per Health Department standards
