Job Summary
Lead Cook/Food Service Assistant will prepare and cook meals for patients/residents and staff, supervise cooks and other areas to meet departmental standards, follow menus and dietary requirements, ensure HACCP and sanitation guidelines, label and store food/equipment, and maintain high quality in a dynamic culinary environment. Responsibilities include cooking two days a week and serving as Food Service Assistant three days a week with weekend rotation; operate and troubleshoot kitchen equipment; demonstrate strong communication and teamwork; manage daily operations while adhering to recipes, HACCP steps, and safety protocols. Requires ability to read/write, basic math, and physical stamina for long shifts; Serv Safe may be required depending on location; on-the-job training provided; benefits for full-time staff; subject to pre-employment screening.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Serv Safe may be required depending upon location
- Minimum of two years experience and previous leadership experience preferred
- On-the-job training will be provided
