Lead Conveyance Engineer-MW Region

Job Summary
Lead the design and delivery of water and wastewater conveyance projects in the Midwest, including water transmission and distribution systems, wastewater collection systems, pump stations, and related master planning. Act as task lead within multidisciplinary teams, oversee junior design staff on small-to-medium projects, manage scope, schedule, and budgets, coordinate permitting and construction, ensure data integrity and code compliance, contribute to technical reports and client interactions, and stay current with industry practices. The role requires collaboration with engineers across water, transportation, geotechnical, tunneling, and environmental disciplines, with hybrid work through Midwest offices.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering with focus in Water Resources or related discipline
- 7 to 10 years of post-education experience in water resources engineering
- Professional Engineering license
- Proficiency in design of water/wastewater/stormwater systems and pump stations with hydraulic analysis
- Design of potable transmission mains, sewer trunk mains, distribution and collection systems with related analyses
- Condition assessment and pipeline rehabilitation familiarity; NASSCO familiarity
- Civil 3D and modeling software (WaterCAD, SewerCad, OpenRoads Designer, Bentley HAMMER, InfoWater, InfoSewer)
- Familiarity with AWWA manuals and standards (M11, M23, M28, M41, M77)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills; self-leadership; ability to guide junior team members; QA/QC adherence
- Active involvement in professional associations (AWWA, WEF)
- Desire to grow into project management and client-facing role
