Lead Controls and Instrumentation Engineer

Job Summary
Design and analyze controls, software, and data acquisition systems for aerospace ground test facilities, including electro-mechanical valves, instrumentation, and control loops. Partner with project teams to develop complete design packages, manage scope, schedule, and budget, and ensure alignment with customer requirements and industry codes. Document design criteria, calculation packages, and technical reports while leading internal and customer design reviews. Interface with procurement and production teams to resolve assembly and test issues, and travel to customer and subcontractor sites for surveys and commissioning. Assist marketing in developing proposals, cost estimates, and recommendations for future work.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering
- 9+ years of experience in controls, electronics, data acquisition systems or similar role
- A combination of education and experience equivalent to above
- Experience with design and implementation of controls, electronics, or data acquisition systems
- Familiarity with NFPA 70 (National Electric Code)
- Familiarity with AutoCAD or SolidWorks for designing and troubleshooting electrical systems
- Experience with PLCs, electro-mechanical systems and software programming experience
- Must be a self-starter
- Able to balance priorities between multiple projects simultaneously
- Demonstrated ability to meet budgets and schedules
- Ability to work effectively and productively as an individual contributor
- Ability to collaborate as part of a multi-disciplinary team
- 15% international and/or domestic travel
