Job Summary
Lead teams of engineers and technicians to provide control system solutions for the Food and Beverage division, working directly with customers to define functional requirements and design, configure, commission, and qualify systems. Develop Life Cycle documents, electrical panels, control architecture, and wiring drawings per GMP standards, while redlining P&ID documentation and defining PLC and DCS configurations. Conduct testing and on-site commissioning and qualification of control systems to improve efficiency, product quality, and profitability. Mentor less experienced engineers, develop engineering standards, and provide technical sales support to the business development team. Requires 4-8 years of automation experience, with 10-30% travel.
Required Qualifications
- 4-8 years of experience in automation or related field
- Demonstrates the ability to perform technical and leadership responsibilities
- Communicate effectively and professionally with both customers and colleagues to present new ideas, accomplish challenging goals, and solve problems
- Ability to guide a project with little supervision and guidance
- Thorough understanding of control system design and implementation
- Self-motivated, excellent communication skills, and enjoy working with people
- Hands-on experience with current PLC or DCS platforms
- Proficient with Microsoft Windows and Server operating systems
- Travel Requirements: 10-30%
Desired Qualifications
- B.S. in Electrical, Computer, or Chemical Engineering or Engineering Technology
- Experience with: Rockwell Automation, Siemens, AVEVA Wonderware, Inductive Automation Ignition
- Electrical design fundamentals
- Batch process control experience
- Electro-mechanical and machine control experience
- Understanding of common Food and Beverage industry processes such as CIP, pasteurization, and packaging.
- General understanding of Network design/administration
