Job Summary
Lead Continuous Improvement on Bechtel’s Manufacturing and Technology project in Clay, NY, reporting to the Project Quality Manager. Responsible for developing and implementing a project-specific continuous improvement program and risk-based strategy, leading CI initiatives, and tracking progress with metrics/dashboards, causal analysis, and Six Sigma tools. Facilitate workshops and training to educate employees on CI methodologies; supervise a CI team; select appropriate CI tools; analyze data across processes to measure effectiveness and drive institutionalized improvements in efficiency, productivity, and quality. Possess Six Sigma Black Belt certification, strong facilitation and data-analysis skills, and experience applying Lean/Kaizen approaches to engineering, procurement, construction, startup, and operations contexts.
Required Qualifications
- Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 8-10 years of relevant experience OR 12-14 years of relevant work experience in lieu of degree
- Recognized Six Sigma Black Belt (certified)
- Experience supervising direct reports
- Trained in Kaizen and / or Lean methodologies
- Trained in team facilitation techniques
- Trained in Causal Analysis techniques
- Experience applying a structured approach to process analysis and problem solving
- Experience establishing, monitoring, and analyzing data and reporting results to PQM and other management
- Advanced written and verbal communication skills
- Proficient in the use of a PC computer, Microsoft software, database administration, Visio (or equivalent) and Minitab
- Must be able to complete and pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check
