Job Summary
Lead Content Distribution Engineer responsible for managing caching solutions and CDN configurations within the Disney Distribution Mesh. Focus areas include configuring CDN configurations, actively managing OpenCache deployments with ISPs globally, reviewing performance metrics, overseeing day-to-day operations, developing tooling for 3rd party CDN integration, and serving as senior-tier on-call support. Requires strong troubleshooting, knowledge of streaming video protocols (HLS), and experience in a CDN environment. Bachelor's degree required; minimum 7 years in caching-focused roles; preferred experience with Varnish, NGINX/HAProxy, AWS/GCP, Python, Ansible/AWX, and SSL/TLS.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 7 years of experience managing caching solutions
- Understanding of streaming video protocols (HLS) and how it interacts with caching
- Ability to perform network troubleshooting
- Effective written and verbal communication
- Experience in a Content Distribution Network environment
- Knowledge of video players and impact on cache logic
- Architecture caching (Varnish) and Web Serving (NGINX, HAProxy) is a plus
- Cloud technologies (AWS, GCP)
- Scripting languages (Python)
- Configuration management (Ansible, AWX)
