Lead Consultant, Cybersecurity (Remote)

Job Summary

Execute cybersecurity project tasks across multiple client engagements to ensure deliverables are completed on schedule and within budget. Support project managers with planning, status reporting, issue tracking, and execution of assigned workstreams while conducting research, technical analysis, and data gathering. Prepare written reports, technical documentation, briefings, and presentations, and track hours spent executing projects. Support engagements involving RMF implementation, A&A package development, security control assessments, vulnerability scanning, and system hardening. Serve as a technical lead for defined workstreams, provide guidance to less senior team members, and contribute to proposal efforts. Coordinate with project managers and stakeholders to resolve issues, close action items, and manage deadlines. While the position is remote, regular travel (50%+) to client sites is a core part of the role.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, cybersecurity, engineering, or equivalent STEM discipline
  • 3+ years of relevant professional experience in cybersecurity, RMF, system security engineering, information assurance, or related fields
  • Active Security Clearance (must have or be able to get and maintain)
  • U.S. Citizenship
  • Working experience with NIST Risk Management Framework, NIST SP 800-53, and DoD cybersecurity requirements
  • Experience with implementing security controls, documenting compliance, and supporting authorization activities
  • Experience with vulnerability assessment, scanning, configuration changes, software and hardware updates, and securing configurations
  • Understanding of network security principles, operating systems, and secure architecture concepts
  • Ability to identify issues, recommend corrective actions, and follow through to closure
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office products, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Ability to handle multiple assignments and work effectively in a team-oriented client environment
  • Regular travel (50%+) to client sites and project locations

Desired Qualifications

  • Professional certification (CASP+, CySA+, Securit+, SSCP, GSEC, GICSP, CGRC)
  • Experience with tools such as Nessus, ACAS, eMASS, and related cybersecurity platforms
  • Experience with PowerShell or Python
  • Navy, NAVSEA, MSC, RMF, or broader federal/DoD experience
  • Ability to obtain a working knowledge of the ABS Health, Safety, Quality and Environmental Management System
