Job Summary
Lead Connectivity Standards Engineer to drive strategy and impact GM connectivity initiatives. Develop and design GM’s wireless connectivity technologies (cellular, Bluetooth, Wi‐Fi, etc.), influence cross-functional teams, and guide standardization efforts with organizations such as 3GPP, IEEE, and Bluetooth SIG. Lead multi-functional groups on technical initiatives, ensure safety and privacy in connectivity solutions, travel 10-15% annually to standards meetings, and deliver advisory and technical services with integrity while aligning with GM’s strategic goals and inclusion values.
Required Qualifications
- Technical bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
- 10+ years of relevant wireless systems, connectivity, or telematics experience
- Direct experience with global standardization organizations (3GPP, Wi-Fi Alliance, Bluetooth SIG, Ultrawide Band, IEEE)
- Track record in achieving standardization deliveries
- Ability to lead multi-functional groups on technical initiatives and IP generation
- Ability to travel 10-15% annually (domestic and international)
