Job Summary
Lead Compliance Specialist responsible for ensuring our collection operations stay compliant with federal, state, and local regulations. Conduct audits, draft regulatory responses, deliver staff training, mentor junior staff, and advise front-line teams on regulatory requirements (FDCPA, Regulation F, FCRA, UDAAP, SCRA, GLBA). Strong focus on audits, file reviews, quality monitoring of collection accounts and correspondence, drafting responses to CFPB, AG, DFPI, BBB, and other inquiries, and updating policies and processes. Requires ability to work independently, communicate effectively in writing, and stay current with regulatory developments; degree of seniority supported by 2+ years in related roles and preferred certifications (CRCP, ACA International) and a Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
Required Qualifications
- 2+ years in compliance, quality assurance, or closely related role within debt collection or regulated financial services
- Working knowledge of FDCPA, Regulation F, FCRA, UDAAP, SCRA, and GLBA
- Experience conducting compliance audits and drafting regulatory or consumer complaint responses
- Strong written communication skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office
- Ability to work independently, prioritize competing demands, and meet deadlines
