Job Summary
Lead CNC Programmer/Operator on a hybrid shop floor role, responsible for developing, testing, and troubleshooting CNC programs from engineering drawings using CAD/CAM software to meet tight tolerances. Performs complex setups and operates CNC routers for prototype and production runs; analyzes tool paths, speeds, and feeds to reduce cycle times and material waste; conducts first-article and in-process inspections with precision measuring tools; provides technical guidance and mentorship to machine operators; conducts routine preventive maintenance and diagnoses mechanical or software glitches. Proficient in G-code/M-code, reads complex drawings with GD&T, and applies CFRP experience. Uses CAD/CAM tools and a range of precision instruments to ensure quality and optimize manufacturing processes.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of CNC machining experience
- at least 2 years in a Lead or Supervisory role
- Proficiency in G-code/M-code
- Experience reading and interpreting complex engineering drawings and GD&T symbols
- Experience with CFRP (carbon fiber)
- Proficiency in CAD/CAM software
- Experience with CNC Routers
- Ability to perform complex machine setups and operate CNC routers for prototype and production runs
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities
- Strong communication and leadership skills
- Attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Knowledge of tool paths, speeds, and feeds optimization
- Experience with CMM and precision measurement tools (calipers, micrometers)
- Experience with Mastercam, SolidWorks CAM, Fusion 360, GibbsCAM, or similar
- Experience with MES/ERP systems
