Job Summary
Manage and support certified nursing assistants within the facility by participating in interviewing, orientation, and onboarding processes. Ensure appropriate staffing of CNAs with daily and monthly schedules, audit CNA documentation for accuracy, and provide inservices on mandatory training such as Hoyer lifts. Make written and oral reports to the Director of Nursing regarding CNA operations and coordinate services with other resident care areas. Participate in facility surveys, performance improvement committees, and various facility committees as assigned. Provide direct nursing care as needed and ensure all mandatory education is completed and documented per state regulations.
Required Qualifications
- Current, unencumbered, active license to practice as an CNA in Colorado
- Must be able to push, pull, move, and /or lift a minimum of 50 pounds to a minimum height of 5 feet and be able to push, pull, move, and/or carry such weight a minimum distance of 50 feet
- Must possess sight/hearing senses, or use prosthetics that will enable these senses to function adequately so that the requirements of this position can be fully met
- Must be able to relate to and work with ill, disabled, elderly, emotionally upset, and at times hostile people within the facility
- Must meet the general health requirements set forth by the policies of this facility, which includes a mental and physical examination
- Must be able to work beyond normal duty hours, on weekends, and in other positions temporarily, when necessary
- Must be willing to work harmoniously with and supervise other personnel
- Leadership and supervisory skills
- Patience, tact and a cheerful disposition, enthusiasm as well as willingness to handle difficult people
- Knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age-related needs of the residents served
- Knowledge of nursing procedures and standards of care relating to CNA
- Experience in a long-term care environment
Desired Qualifications
- Working knowledge of long-term care and skilled nursing state and federal regulations (preferred)
- One-year experience in a long-term care environment (preferred)
