Job Summary
Senior-level Cloud & DevOps Engineer responsible for provisioning and operating an AWS-based data platform, building CI/CD pipelines, and enforcing secure, scalable, and compliant production deployments. Key duties include designing multi-account AWS infrastructure, implementing IaC with Terraform, configuring data services (Glue, S3, Redshift), enabling Git-based deployment workflows for Databricks/Snowflake, establishing observability with CloudWatch/Datadog, and enforcing security controls (IAM, KMS, Secrets Manager) in regulated environments. Collaboration with Data Engineers, BI Consultants, and Governance leads to ensure enterprise alignment, reliability, performance, and disaster recovery. Strong emphasis on release engineering, cost management (FinOps), and producing comprehensive runbooks and platform documentation to hand over to the client’s internal IT team.
Required Qualifications
- Experience with AWS-native architecture and cloud platforms
- Infrastructure-as-code using Terraform or similar tools
- Hands-on experience deploying and operating cloud-native workloads in AWS (Glue, S3, Redshift, ECS/EKS, Lambda, IAM, VPC)
- Experience with Databricks and/or Snowflake in AWS environments
- Strong CI/CD tooling and release automation experience
- Knowledge of security practices including IAM, RBAC, secrets management, encryption, and policy-driven access control
- Experience with observability tooling (logging, monitoring, alerting, service health)
- Experience supporting production-grade data platforms in regulated environments (e.g., PIPEDA)
- Familiarity with Git-based workflows and collaborative engineering practices
- Strong troubleshooting and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to produce operational runbooks and platform documentation
- Nice-to-have: experience with ECS/EKS, Data & analytics services, and non-functional testing in cloud-native systems
