Job Summary
Oversee all laboratory testing and coordinate point of care testing while reviewing test result validity and accuracy. Establish test performance characteristics, evaluate new instrumentation and procedures, and manage equipment maintenance, troubleshooting, and calibration. Conduct training programs for medical technicians and students on instrumentation, technology, and procedures. Manage staffing to ensure coverage, recommend promotions and reassignments, and resolve informal employee complaints. Ensure compliance with CLIA, FDA, CAP, Joint Commission, and OSHA standards through quality control, assurance, and preventive maintenance activities.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in medical technology, clinical laboratory science, biological sciences, chemical sciences or allied health technologies
- Valid Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) license in state of employment
- Five years' clinical laboratory experience
- Two years' leadership experience
- Current certification from American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) or National Credentialing Agency for Labs (NCA)
- All required vaccinations as a condition of employment
