Lead Clinical Laboratory Scientist, Full Time, Day Shift

Job Summary

Oversee all laboratory testing, coordinate point-of-care testing, and manage staffing to ensure coverage. Establish test performance characteristics, evaluate instrumentation developments, and conduct training programs on instrumentation, technology, and procedures. Manage equipment maintenance, troubleshooting, and calibration while ensuring compliance with CLIA, FDA, CAP, Joint Commission, and OSHA standards. Review test result validity, manage quality control records, and address QA concerns by initiating reports and conferring with the medical staff. Serve as a technical consultant and direct supervisor to laboratory personnel, resolving employee complaints and recommending promotions or reassignments.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in medical technology, clinical laboratory science, biological sciences, chemical sciences or allied health technologies
  • Valid Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) license in state of employment
  • Five years' clinical laboratory experience
  • Two years' leadership experience

Desired Qualifications

  • Current certification from American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) or National Credentialing Agency for Labs (NCA)
