Job Summary
Oversee all laboratory testing, coordinate point of care testing, and evaluate test result validity and accuracy. Establish test performance characteristics, including precision, accuracy, and reference ranges, while assessing new instrumentation and procedures for implementation. Manage staffing, conduct training programs for personnel and students, and resolve employee complaints. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, including CLIA, FDA, CAP, Joint Commission, and OSHA standards, through quality control, quality assurance, and preventive maintenance activities. Maintain all sectional quality control records and address QA concerns by initiating reports and conferring with the Medical Staff.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in medical technology, clinical laboratory science, biological sciences, chemical sciences or allied health technologies
- Valid Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) license in state of employment
- Five years' clinical laboratory experience
- Two years' leadership experience
- Current certification from American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) or National Credentialing Agency for Labs (NCA)
- All required vaccinations
- Acknowledgement of E-Verify Participation and Right to Work notices
