Job Summary
Lead Clinical Laboratory Scientist oversees all laboratory testing and coordinates all point-of-care testing, supervising laboratory personnel and ensuring accreditation and OSHA standards. Develops and maintains policies, quality control practices, and lab safety; serves as a resource medical technologist; conducts staff training; ensures regulatory compliance with CLIA, CAP, JC, FDA, AABB, and OSHA; coordinates staffing, onboarding, promotions, and competency programs; drives QA/QC activities and maintenance of regulatory records; and performs duties as needed to support the laboratory's operations.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in medical technology, clinical laboratory science, biological sciences, chemical sciences or allied health technologies or equivalent
- Valid Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) license in state of employment: Required in CA
- Current certification from American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) or National Credentialing Agency for Labs (NCA): Preferred
- Five years' clinical laboratory experience: Preferred
- Two years' leadership experience: Preferred
