Job Summary
The Lead Civil Engineer – Solar will manage civil engineering design projects for utility-scale solar photovoltaic projects, ensuring effective communication with clients and internal design teams. Responsibilities include leading project execution, mentoring engineers, reviewing high-quality designs, and developing engineering standards. The role requires a B.S. in Civil Engineering, PE registration, and 8-10+ years of experience, particularly in solar project design. Proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D is preferred, along with strong problem-solving skills and experience in large scale solar grading design.
Required Qualifications
- B.S. in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited program or equivalent is required.
- Civil Professional Engineer (PE) registration required, NCEES Council Record is preferred.
- Minimum of 8-10+ years of civil engineering experience is required, with at least 5+ years of experience in design and development of utility scale solar, preferred.
- Proficient at large scale solar grading design and earthwork calculations is required.
- Experience performing detailed design of solar facilities with complex topographic, environmental, and non-participating infrastructure constraints is highly desired.
- Stormwater management and permitting experience is highly desired.
Desired Qualifications
- Experience developing Spill Prevention Control and Countermeasures Plans (SPCC) and Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plans (SWPPP) preferred.
- Demonstrated proficiency and working knowledge of AutoCAD and Civil 3D is preferred.
- Proven experience in Microsoft Software Applications (Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook).
