Job Summary

Lead Child Care Teacher responsible for demonstrating positive teaching practices and professionalism to create an effective, safe learning environment. Duties include maintaining warm, inviting classrooms; maintaining Learning Centers; planning and implementing educational programs and daily activities; establishing weekly schedules and lesson plans; promoting development across social, emotional, intellectual, and physical domains; maintaining accurate records and completing state-required documents; providing instruction for Teachers; managing children's behavior; and complying with the Child Maltreatment Reporting Act by reporting suspected maltreatment to the Director or Co-Director. Certifications in CPR/First Aid and Infant Toddler Safe Sleep (ITS-SIDS) are required, along with an Associate’s degree in Early Childhood Education or related field. Weekend care knowledge and ability to communicate effectively with families are also noted; Cape Fear Valley Health System emphasizes a patient-centered, team-based environment.

Required Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree in Early Childhood Education or related field
  • CPR and First Aid certifications
  • Infant Toddler Safe Sleep (ITS-SIDS) certification
  • 1 year of responsible classroom experience in a professional large Child Care Center
