Job Summary
Greet patients, visitors, and staff while managing patient flow from arrival to exam room departure using the Epic EMR system. Prepare patients for visits by taking vital signs, performing medication reconciliation, updating history, and escorting them to rooms. Assist physicians with examinations, procedures, and therapies that do not require medical judgment, including phlebotomy, point-of-care testing, and specimen preparation. Mentor Certified Medical Assistants by serving as a preceptor, guiding team members, and facilitating safety huddles and quality improvement practices. Identify operational improvements, recommend alternative procedures, and collaborate with front- and back-end support teams to ensure protocol standards are met. Assist with staffing schedules, time off requests, and onboarding new staff while maintaining a service-oriented demeanor across multiple specialties.
Required Qualifications
- High school graduate or equivalency
- Graduated from an accredited Medical Assistant program
- Specialized certifications as needed
- CMA certification by a credentialing body
- Minimum of 3 years experience in a medical assistant role
- Current BCLS/AED certification
- Demonstrated proficiency and/or understanding of EMR systems
- Prior experience in front desk support and/or workflows
- Strong aptitude for detail
