Job Summary
Develop and execute global sourcing strategies to improve service, quality, and total cost of ownership across a ~$185M spend portfolio for the Benchtop & Woodworking Finished Goods category. Negotiate, implement, and manage supplier contracts and service level agreements while conducting strategic global supplier account reviews to define annual performance metrics and corrective action plans. Identify and communicate risks, coordinate mitigation plans, and build year-over-year cost reduction projects using lean improvement methodologies. Prepare RFI's, RFP's, and RFQ's to evaluate supplier proposals and directly coordinate supplier development activities. Communicate the Cordless Expansion Strategy to New Product Introduction and Plants teams to support continuous improvement.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in relevant area
- Minimum 5 years of experience in global strategic sourcing or procurement including supplier selection, management and contract negotiations
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes, costs, and materials
- Experience managing Finished Goods categories with lean manufacturing or six sigma methodologies
- Ability to work independently to deliver results and influence stakeholders internally and externally
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
- Ability to take accountability for driving team results, overcoming challenges, and working in a highly matrixed environment
- Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability to changes
- Personal drive, high energy, strong teaming skills, collaborative style and commitment to continuous professional growth
- Experience building cost models/clean sheets, and monitoring raw material market trends
- Strong influencing/negotiation skills and change management experience with the ability to successfully manage complexity and multiple priorities
- Quick learner with interest in understanding and applying global supplier best practices
